Citizen was founded in 1918 and became known as “Citizen” in 1930 when the Citizen Watch Company began manufacturing its world-renowned timepieces. In the following years, Citizen applied the precision miniaturization and precision manufacturing technologies developed through watchmaking to offer a wide range of electronic components and products.

Citizen has a holding structure and four main product groups: Watches, Machine Tools, Devices & Components, and Electronic Products. Our Code of Conduct ensures that standards such as product safety, fair and transparent business transactions, and ¹ proactive engagement in environmental issues are maintained across these four businesses. More than a century has passed since Citizen's founding. Therefore, today, we are leveraging our accumulated capabilities and potential to pave the way to the future
